What you eat has a direct effect on how you look, and how you age.
We all want vibrant, glowing skin, but sometimes when we are working a 12-hour shift and have to get home to our babies, it gets kind of hard to care about what your face looks like. Our diets greatly affect how we look, and how quickly we age however, so the good news is that what we eat is one thing we can control, when it comes to maintaining healthy skin. These five foods are pretty easy to implement into your diet, and will ensure that at the very least, your skin is getting the nutrients it needs to keep you young and fresh, even when you don’t feel that way.

Whole grains– You should always choose whole grain bread, brown rice, and whole grain cereals over refined grain food. One tip though- make sure you read the label, as many bread companies have tricky wording.
Utilize protein– Whenever you eat sugar, try to pair it with protein to balance out the glycemic index and slow down the release of glucose into your body.
Drink green tea– If you are a coffee addict, try to switch it up and enjoy a cup of green tea from time to time. Green tea contains powerful antioxidants that will help keep your skin radiant.
Don’t be afraid of spices and herbs– Herbs, spices, and also seasonings also contain antioxidants, so don’t be afraid to jump right in on cinnamon, cloves, curry powder, basil, marjoram, oregano, rosemary, and sage, to name a few.
Eat more fruit- A plate of fruit is the perfect breakfast, because it provides antioxidants without added fat, salt, and sugar. Fruit is also a great snack during the day, so feel free to carry some around in your purse.
