Even if your New Years gym resolutions failed, there are still plenty of reasons to go.
As a mother and a surgeon, I will be the first to tell you that convincing myself to go to the gym isn’t always easy. Luckily my life is pretty organized and runs on a routine, but there are definitely moments where I have to drag myself to those double doors and force myself to work out.
All you really have to do is get yourself there. Once you arrive at the gym you are a lot more likely to continue and get a great workout. Unless you seriously injure yourself, chances are you will never really regret hitting the gym, but you probably will regret staying home and burying your face in a bag of salt and vinegar chips.
So these motivational tips are meant to give you something to think about in that split second where you decide whether or not to go.

You already failed at your resolutions (no matter what they are). That part of your life is over now. But, every single gym session is a step in the right direction. So what have you go to lose?
Valentines Day is around the corner. If you work out a lot until then, you won’t feel so bad eating your weight in chocolate and wine, while ugly-crying into your Netflix account.
Just go for 20 minutes of cardio. After you get there, you can decide if you want to do more, (which you probably will), but lying to yourself about only doing 20 minutes should be enough to get you in the door.
You will probably never actually speak to anyone you see at the gym. So who cares what they think? Get your fitness on!
We only have a certain amount of years on this Earth. It is never too early to get fit, but there will come a point when it is too late.
If that depressing thought isn’t enough to get you there, I don’t know what is.
