Three Best Juices for Cleansing

Sometimes a juice cleanse is exactly what your system needs.

The world has been in lockdown for months, and by now I am assuming most moms are just popping instant meals into the microwave every night and retiring to the bottom of a glass of red wine. Chances are, we haven’t been eating or exercising the way we would prefer. It is also very likely that we aren’t happy with this, which is probably weighing on our mental health, as well.

The good news is, it is the perfect time for a juice cleanse. Juice cleanses help you lose weight, gain energy, and clean your digestive system out, which can be great for immunity.

Juice cleanses shock your body into health mode, and expel toxins, because your body starts to function properly once you cut out all the processed food.

The one thing you must remember is to drink plenty of water. The goal is to subsist on just juice and water, but you have to drink enough water to stay hydrated and keep your system moving.

One other thing to keep in mind is to check ingredients.  A lot of pre-packaged juices say they are healthy, but are actually packed with sugar. Your best bet is to juice your own fruits and veggies, if possible.

There are plenty of great juice cleanses out there, but here are three main options, to help get you started.

Green Juice Green, leafy vegetables are chock full of antioxidants, so green juices are really the gold standard of juicing. Chlorophyll from green juice helps strengthen immunity, control inflammation, and increase red blood cell production.

Greens to consider- Spinach, cucumber, celery, lemon, ginger, apple, and parsley (if you like it)

Detox Juice- If you are a drinker, or have been especially heavy on processed foods during this time, you might consider a detox juice cleanse. Beets are well-known for this, and they are also a good source of potassium, help lower blood pressure, and promote weight loss.

Ingredients to consider: Beets, carrots, lemon, ginger, and apple.

Carrot Juice: If you are looking to increase your overall health (especially vision), you should consider carrot (orange) juice. The beta carotene in carrots helps increase metabolism, promote weight loss, strengthen vision, boost immunity, and lower cholesterol. Also, carrot and orange-based juices just taste better in my opinion.

Ingredients to consider: Carrots, turmeric, oranges, and ginger.
