Five Surprising Superfoods to Try

It’s never a bad time to add superfoods to your diet.

Spring is around the corner again, so we are probably all spending a little more time thinking about our diets.

When I say ‘diets’, I mean that general rule book of what you put into your body, which has probably completely gone out the window during the Covid-19 pandemic.

If you’re re-evaluating your diet now though, I strongly suggest you consider adding as many superfoods as you can.

A superfood is just a nutrient-dense food that offers lots of health benefits. Some superfoods are popular, like avocados, and others are less well-known. If you’re looking for some new ways to feed yourself, these five superfoods are worth a try!

Artichokes- Artichokes are super high in fiber, folic acid, and antioxidants. They can also help lower bad cholesterol and help support brain, liver, and bone health.

Asparagus- Asparagus are chock full of fiber, vitamins A, C, E, and K, and can help with cognition and mental health.

Fava Beans- Fava beans contain lots of protein, fiber, and vitamins. They can also help keep your cholesterol down and support healthy muscles.

Leeks- Leeks are high in antioxidants, and contain compounds that help promote heart and liver health.

Broccoli Rabe- This lesser known broccoli is full of vitamins C, K, and A, as well as antioxidants. I feel like it tastes better than regular broccoli too, for some reason.

There is no better time than now to start adding new things to your diet and experimenting with new flavors.
