How to Combat Acne with Tea

Can you get glowing skin from drinking tea?

When it comes to overall health, I am a huge proponent of using as many all-natural health aids as possible. As an doctor, I am obviously in favor of western medicine. There are however, a lot of natural ways you can support your body that will ultimately help improve your overall health in the long run.

If you are someone who suffers from acne, chances are you have tried all kinds of remedies. There are medical ways to treat the problem, like with adapalene gel or RetinA. Depending on your particular skin type, a calculated moisturizing regimen can also help. But if you want to try something more natural, you might consider spearmint tea.

Spearmint tea (and many other teas) is a natural anti-inflammatory. It also has anti-microbial properties, and contains flavonoids like menthol and limonene. Another interesting piece of the puzzle is that spearmint tea can help reduce testosterone levels, which can be a big factor in terms of hormonal acne.

So, will spearmint tea work for you? It can’t hurt. If you suffer from acne, my suggestion is to add a cup or two of spearmint tea to your diet every day, and see if your face clears up.

You can never have too many antioxidants, after all.
