If you’re thinking of going keto, its important to know all the possible side effects.
The keto diet has been making lots of waves in the past few years, with everyone from celebrities to housewives jumping on the trend. Low carb diets get repackaged every few years, and the keto trend is just the latest in a long string of diets that do help you lose weight, but come with a few side effects, as well.
Anyone who has tried going keto can tell you that your breath, and bowel movements tend to take on a more pungent odor. This is because the diet forces your body into ketosis (basically a starvation function where your body breaks down fat instead of carbohydrates).
As a result, your body over-produces ketone chemicals like acetone, which normally occur in your body but cause unpleasant odors in larger amounts. This affects your breath and stool, but it an also extend to your crotch, because chemical changes in the body affect your PH balance, and can in turn change your natural scent ‘down there’.
Any time you do something that changes how your body functions, you can expect side effects. You personally have to decide if you are willing to put up with pungent odors from your breath, stool, and crotch in favor of fitting into your favorite bikini.

I have always said, creating a habit out of fitness, and changing your diet permanently are the best ways to get fit, and stay fit.
I am not one to judge anyone else on their choices though, so just know that if going keto is how you want to lose weight, you may have to deal with some unpleasant odors for a while.
